Pine Tree Class: Welcome back!

Welcome back everyone!

What a lovely week it has been, the sun has been shining and it has been noticeably warmer, if you haven't already, please can you send suncream in for your child. 

In Literacy this half term, our focus is Poems and we have been beginning to learn about rhyming words and alliteration. The pupils have really impressed us with their prior knowledge about rhyming words and have been able to match words that rhyme. In Numeracy, we have been learning about Data Handling. Some pupils have been focusing on different ways to handle data, for example, tally charts and block graphs. This has been extended for some students to interpret the results. 

Our topic of the week has been PSD where we have been focusing on personal hygiene. To put this in to practice we have been baking bread and using our hand washing techniques to make sure we have got rid of all the germs. Before we baked the bread, some of our students went to Morrisons with a shopping list to buy the ingredients. They were very grown up and helped to put the ingredients in the baskets, scan the items and then pay at the end. 

Our half termly Inspiration Day takes place tomorrow, where the topic is 'Living in a Healthy World'. We will be visiting and exploring different stations created by each class in the hall tomorrow.
